What: A place that promotes aging well in an urban environment: the first affordable assisted-living facility in Ward 8.

Livingston Place at Southern Ave is a 150+ unit, affordable assisted living facility with two primary functions: a 17,000 sq. ft. ground floor with amenities + apartments on the upper floors that function much like a multi-family development. The goal of this project is to facilitate the lack of urban living opportunities for community members who have aged in place their entire lives. Typically, the words “assisted living” conjure the idea of sprawling suburban developments with plenty of parking and space. However, not every aging citizen wants to be away from the amenities and resources that the city offers. The project includes a exterior courtyard, dining hall, a variety of amenity spaces from a billiards room to theater space. Of particular interest is the “V” columns located at the main entry, which can be seen in development in the construction photos.
